Job description
Creative Event Sales & Planning Manager
Chiswick, London
Up to £50,000 + Commission
Hybrid - 4 days office-based, 1 day working from home
Do you love creating incredible events but also have the commercial instinct to turn an exciting enquiry into a confirmed booking?
We're recruiting for an established premium event design and production company in London, looking for a Creative Event Sales & Planning Manager to join its commercial team.
This is not a cold business development role. The business already generates a strong flow of inbound enquiries. Your role is to take those opportunities, understand exactly what the client is looking for and use your creativity, event knowledge and commercial skills to turn their initial ideas into an event they can't wait to book.
You'll be involved from the first conversation - developing the concept, creating the proposal, working through budgets and presenting ideas - before ultimately converting the enquiry into a confirmed event.
The Role
You'll manage incoming event enquiries from initial brief through to proposal and conversion, acting as a key point of contact for the client throughout the sales and planning process.
You'll get under the skin of each brief - understanding the occasion, audience, venue, budget and what the client wants people to experience - before developing a creative response that brings their ideas to life
.
Working alongside an established in-house team across design, visualisation, production, scenic and event operations, you'll have the resources around you to create visually compelling proposals and confidently sell the overall vision.
Creativity is a big part of the role. You don't need to be a designer yourself, but you do need to be someone who can look at a brief and think "What could we do with this?" The original brief specifically calls for someone who can develop creative responses and work with the in-house visual design team to bring those concepts to life.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll be responsible for:
- Managing and converting inbound event enquiries
- Meeting clients and taking detailed event briefs
- Developing creative event concepts and ideas
- Creating compelling proposals and presentations
- Building event budgets and commercially viable solutions
- Presenting and pitching concepts to clients
- Attending client meetings, venue visits and site visits
- Building strong relationships with clients, venues and industry partners
- Identifying repeat and multi-event opportunities from existing relationships
- Working closely with design, production and operations teams
- Briefing internal teams once an event is confirmed
- Remaining involved as events move from concept into live delivery
- Keeping ahead of trends across premium, luxury and creative events
About You
We're looking for someone who combines events, creativity and commercial ability.
You might already work for an event agency or production company - but you absolutely don't have to.
We'd also love to hear from people working within the wider event supply chain, such as event catering, floristry, furniture, décor, lighting, AV, production or other creative event suppliers.
You may currently be an Event Planner, Event Manager, Account Manager, Sales Manager or Client Manager. Your job title is less important than your experience.
What matters is that you understand events and are used to taking a client enquiry or brief, developing ideas around it, creating a solution and turning that opportunity into revenue.
What We're Looking For
You'll ideally bring:
- Strong experience within the events industry
- A creative approach to event planning
- Commercial confidence and the ability to convert enquiries
- Experience interpreting client briefs and developing event solutions
- Strong proposal and presentation skills
- Excellent client relationship and communication skills
- Experience working with event budgets
- A good understanding of how events are produced and delivered
- Knowledge of London venues and the wider London events market
- Confidence working with premium clients and delivering exceptional service
- The ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-moving environment
The Opportunity
Up to £50,000 + Commission
The role is based in Chiswick, London, with four days a week in the office and one day working from home.
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys the commercial side of events without wanting to be a traditional new-business salesperson.
The enquiries are coming in. Your job is to take the client's initial idea and use your creativity, event knowledge and commercial instinct to turn it into something exceptional - and ultimately win the booking.
If you know events, love developing creative ideas and get a genuine buzz from seeing a client say "yes, that's exactly what we want", we'd love to hear from you.
