Event Manager - Arena

Birmingham • 13 hours ago

  • Permanent - Onsite

Job description

Event Manager,
NEC Arenas
12 month fixed term
Birmingham

Two arenas. Concerts, sport, family shows and pretty much everything in between.
You'll be joining the Arenas team across Utilita Arena Birmingham and bp pulse LIVE, covering a 12 month maternity leave from October.

The role runs in two modes depending on the show you're allocated. On the planning side you're leading the morning: load-in, build, venue operational plans, crowd safety and emergency plans, and feeding your requirements into the rigging, staging and electrics teams. On the delivery side you're duty manager and Silver Command, sat in the control room working the crowd management plan, the promoter relationship, ingress and egress, and whatever the evening decides to throw at you.

Who fits:
  • An experienced event manager from an arena, venue or festival background
  • Or someone off the major event circuit, the kind of career that goes Commonwealth Games to the next big build
  • Comfortable with large crowds, security planning and health and safety as a daily reality, not a paperwork exercise
  • IOSH or NEBOSH General Certificate is a real advantage, as is anything in pyrotechnics or crowd management
Practically: 40 hours a week on annualised, flexible hours rather than a fixed pattern, with regular rota'd evenings and weekends. Bonus scheme, 25 days plus bank holidays, free parking and lunch on site.

Interviews are mid September for an October start, so if this is your kind of building, get in touch this week.
