Marketing Manager

Salary: £35,000

Location: Office-based - Rugby

We are recruiting a Marketing Manager on behalf of a commercial events business responsible for delivering high-quality B2B networking and industry events across the UK.

This role will take ownership of all marketing activity across the business, playing a key part in driving brand awareness, lead generation, and commercial growth. The company encourages creative thinking and fresh ideas, offering an environment where marketing initiatives can directly influence business success.

The organisation specialises in bringing buyers and suppliers together through professionally delivered B2B events, creating valuable industry connections and commercial opportunities.
The Role
This is a hands-on role covering multiple aspects of marketing including:

  • Communications
  • Brand development
  • Digital marketing
  • Event planning and delivery support
  • Internal marketing initiatives
  • Market research and analysis
You will contribute to the growth and development of the brand, ensuring consistency across marketing communications while generating new ideas to strengthen market presence.
Key areas of responsibility include:
  • Managing design elements across company websites
  • Maintaining and developing digital content
  • Supporting content creation and copywriting
  • Managing social media channels and updates
  • Driving lead generation activities
  • Supporting marketing initiatives that evolve day-to-day as the business grows
About You
We are looking for someone from a commercial B2B marketing background who understands the full marketing mix and is comfortable working across multiple channels.
You will have experience across:
  • Social media
  • Digital marketing
  • Email marketing
  • Database marketing
  • Online communications
You will also bring:
  • Strong copywriting and content development skills
  • An understanding of marketing compliance
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to take initiative
  • A marketing or business-related qualification (desirable)
Key Responsibilities
  • Build and strengthen the company brand across B2B events
  • Plan and implement social media campaigns across LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
  • Analyse marketing data and campaign performance
  • Create, update and maintain marketing business plans
  • Support the sales team with marketing content and insights
  • Develop and manage email marketing campaigns
  • Generate creative marketing ideas and solutions
  • Produce and distribute monthly newsletters
  • Create email templates for communication with event attendees
  • Develop website content
  • Attend company events to capture photo and video content for marketing
  • Manage marketing databases and CRM systems
  • Support lead generation activity
  • Track marketing effectiveness and report on performance
  • Develop relationships with stakeholders and partners
  • Create promotional materials including brochures, flyers and newsletters
Technical Skills Required
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in B2B marketing
  • Degree in Marketing or a related field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of digital marketing channels
  • Experience managing social media platforms (LinkedIn particularly important)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe and marketing software
  • Experience creating and running email marketing campaigns
  • Strong copywriting ability
  • Experience using CRM / email marketing systems such as Salesforce, Pardot or similar
  • WordPress experience advantageous
  • InDesign and Photoshop experience advantageous
  • Photography, videography or video editing experience advantageous

The company is a small, friendly and collaborative events business delivering high-quality B2B networking events across the UK.
Their events bring together buyers and suppliers in a structured environment designed to encourage valuable business relationships.
Events run over a two-day period, typically hosted in 5-star venues in London, and the successful candidate would be expected to attend these events, including setup the evening prior.
