Salary: £45,000 - £55,000

Location: Office-based during onboarding, with limited hybrid working (typically 1 day per week)

Disrupt Talent is recruiting on behalf of a well-established exhibition design and build company, delivering technically robust, high-quality exhibition and live event solutions for UK and international clients.

The business is known for its collaborative culture, strong technical expertise and long-standing client relationships. With continued growth and increasing project complexity, the company is expanding its technical design team to support delivery across multiple international programmes.

The Role
This is a key role for an experienced Technical Designer / CAD Designer / CAD Technician with 3+ years' industry experience (or strong transferable experience) within exhibitions, joinery, shopfitting, retail fit-out, furniture manufacturing or interior fit-out environments.

You will play a central role in the technical delivery of live exhibition and event projects, translating creative concepts into accurate, build-ready drawings. Working closely with project managers, workshops, suppliers and clients, you will take increasing ownership of projects as your autonomy develops.

The role includes regular opportunities for UK and international travel, supporting on-site installations and global project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
· Translating concept visuals into detailed workshop production drawings using 2D and 3D AutoCAD
· Re-interpreting designs into new layouts, following direction from account handlers or clients
· Producing submission and approval drawings to support project management teams
· Running live projects with increasing responsibility and ownership
· Liaising directly with project managers, contractors, suppliers and clients
· Coordinating internal workshop teams and external subcontractors
· Managing third-party manufacturing requirements
· Producing CNC cutting files for joinery, furniture, signage and 3D elements
· Carrying out surveys and space planning layouts
· Producing services location plans for venue suppliers
· Updating and managing project data within the FileMaker coordination database
· Attending site visits and exhibitions in the UK and internationally, with travel shared fairly and lieu days offered

Skills & Experience
· 3+ years' experience in technical detailing, CAD design or production drawings within exhibitions, joinery, shopfitting, retail fit-out or furniture manufacturing
· Strong AutoCAD 2D / 3D skills
· Confident communicator with internal teams, suppliers and clients
· Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
· Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative office environment
· Willing and able to travel internationally

· AutoCAD 2D / 3D (main tool)
· Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams)
· FileMaker database (training provided if required)
· Excel
· Adobe Suite (beneficial)
