Business Development Manager / Director
Boutique Events Agency | £5m Turnover, Ambitious Growth Plans | Remote/Hybrid
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 base
OTE: £70,000 - £85,000+ with uncapped, profit-based commission
Location: Remote/hybrid - occasional visits to the Market Harborough office, plus client meetings and major European conferences
Reports to: Managing Director

Are you a senior salesperson at a larger events or conference agency, frustrated by layers of process and admin that get in the way of just doing the deal?
This is a rare chance to join a thriving, founder-led boutique events agency at a pivotal moment in its growth. Currently turning over around £5 million, the business has ambitious plans to scale to £7-10 million over the next two to three years - and they need a driven, entrepreneurial new business hunter to help make it happen.
You'll be working directly alongside the Managing Director. This isn't a role buried in a big team with multiple layers between you and the client. You'll own the whole journey: opening doors, building relationships, shaping the pitch, and closing the deal.
The agency already delivers for globally recognised brands with strong reputations in renewable energy and technology sectors. They partner with best-in-class production and exhibition specialists, meaning you can focus on what you do best - winning new business - while a skilled creative team supports delivery.

What You'll Be Doing
- Proactively identifying, targeting, and securing new corporate clients -particularly larger accounts in growth sectors like tech, energy, and renewables
- Owning the full sales funnel, from first contact through to signed business, working hand-in-hand with the creative and marketing teams on pitches and proposals
- Managing client relationships through the first event and into repeat business
- Representing the agency at client meetings, pitches, and major European industry conferences
What Success Looks Like
- £1 million in new business secured within 12-18 months
- Growing the client base to around large corporate accounts
- Building genuine, lasting relationships that convert into repeat, multi-year business
About You
- Currently operating at Sales Director or senior Business Development Manager level within a events/conference agency
- Deep knowledge of the conference and events industry, with a proven track record of winning new business from major corporate brands
- A genuine hunter: resilient, proactive, and comfortable generating your own leads and opening doors without administrative support
- Commercially sharp - someone who wants a seat at the table, not just a sales target
- Entrepreneurial in spirit, somebody that is craving autonomy and creative freedom
- Resilient and emotionally intelligent, thriving in a small, close-knit team environment
- Autonomy - write your own playbook, without layers of sign-off
