Business Development Manager - Exhibitions
Huddersfield (Office-based, 5 days per week)
£32,000-£37,000 DOE + uncapped commission
Disrupt Talent is recruiting on behalf of a specialist exhibition contractor based in Huddersfield. They're moving away from a high-volume telesales approach and building something more considered - a strategic BDM who can identify the right opportunities, build real relationships, and bring in quality briefs rather than just chasing numbers.
This isn't about volume or quick wins. It's about targeted, intelligent business development - knowing which doors to knock on, and building the kind of relationships that lead to long-term pipeline.

What you'll be doing
- Proactively identifying and qualifying new business leads, primarily for projects under £30k
- Attending trade shows to build sector knowledge, spot opportunities, and open doors through relationship-building rather than hard pitching
- Booking meetings and pulling in briefs - the core focus in the early stages
- Researching and developing a pipeline across key target sectors including pharmaceuticals and aerospace
- Working closely with the senior team on lead qualification and handover
- Contributing to the company's growth into new markets over the longer term
- Proven B2B sales or outbound business development experience - essential
- A strategic mindset and the ability to work patiently through longer sales cycles
- Strong relationship-building skills - someone who earns trust rather than chases volume
- Comfortable attending shows and using them to gather intelligence and open conversations
- Self-motivated and able to manage your own activity and pipeline independently
- Exhibitions experience is a bonus, not a requirement - transferable B2B sales skills and a willingness to learn the sector are what matter
- Base salary of £32,000-£37,000 DOE
- Uncapped commission based on net profit
