Venue Technical Manager - Live Events
Location: Kensington, London
Salary: £42,000 - £47,500 DOE + commission + bonus

A fantastic opportunity has opened for a Venue Technical Manager to oversee the technical delivery of all live events taking place within a busy, high-end events venue in Kensington.

This is a pivotal role combining hands-on technical leadership with client-facing responsibilities. You will manage all AV, LED, staging, and technical planning for events hosted at the venue, ensuring every production runs flawlessly
for a wide range of corporate clients and high-profile organisations.

What You'll Be Doing

Oversee end-to-end technical delivery for all events hosted at the venue, including conferences, exhibitions, award ceremonies, and private corporate functions
Lead on technical planning across AV, LED, scenic, lighting, and rigging
Create and review technical schematics, cable plans, floor layouts, and H&S documentation for venue-based events
Work closely with internal Account Managers and the venue's events team to support technical elements of proposals and client briefings
Liaise with suppliers and coordinate with Operations to schedule crew, equipment, and logistics for each event
Represent the technical team during on-site client meetings, walk-throughs, and rehearsals
Ensure all technical installations comply with venue regulations, safety standards, and best practice
Provide on-the-day technical oversight and troubleshooting to guarantee smooth delivery
Contribute to internal training and development of technical staff, particularly in LED and AV technologies
Maintain an up-to-date understanding of emerging technologies relevant to the venue's event offering

What We're Looking For
We're seeking a confident and experienced technical professional who understands both the operational detail and broader creative vision behind successful live event production-ideally with strong experience working inside a venue environment.

You'll Need To Have

Proven experience as a live events AV technician, with strong LED and general AV knowledge
Analog Way LivePremier / Aquilon experience
Hands-on technical project management experience within live, hybrid, or corporate events
Strong understanding of event power distribution, cable runs, rigging logistics, and H&S compliance
Working knowledge of virtual event and streaming platforms
Solid CAD skills (Vectorworks or similar) for interpreting and producing technical drawings
Ability to work confidently with lens calculations, rigging loads, sightlines, and power requirements
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills under pressure
Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with clients on-site
Good IT proficiency - Microsoft Office, file-sharing platforms, general technical competency
High attention to detail, strong numeracy, and exceptional organisational ability
A-Levels minimum; relevant technical training or degree desirable
