Location: Birmingham
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000

Purpose of the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Technical Project Manager to independently oversee all technical aspects of small to medium-sized projects, while supporting senior team members on larger-scale productions when required.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that every project is delivered to the highest standard, with client expectations consistently met or exceeded.

They will also support colleagues across the wider project team and provide
guidance to junior technical staff.

Key Responsibilities Project Management
  • Receive client briefs and collaborate with internal teams to prepare competitive quotes and proposals.
  • Take full ownership of projects from confirmation through to delivery, coordinating all technical elements.
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, suppliers, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Deliver projects in line with agreed budgets, managing both internal and external costs.
  • Complete post-project financial reconciliations, ensuring accurate cost tracking.
  • Support client debriefs and contribute to continuous improvement.
Project Administration
  • Follow company systems and processes, including Quality and Health & Safety standards.
  • Work closely with internal teams to maintain project timelines and meet all deadlines.
  • Ensure accuracy in quoting and clarity around technical requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal teams on technical queries.
  • Collaborate with operations and warehouse teams to coordinate equipment and logistics.
  • Prepare and distribute technical documentation, including CAD layouts, schematics, and H&S information.
  • Support virtual and hybrid project delivery, including platform setup and documentation.
  • Create and manage project records, quotes, and purchase orders.
  • Track expenses and manage time allocation across projects.
  • Build and manage equipment lists, identifying shortfalls and sourcing cost-effective solutions.
Site Visits
  • Conduct site visits as required to assess technical requirements.
  • Take accurate measurements and evaluate project needs.
  • Attend independently or alongside other team members.
On-site Delivery
  • Lead technical delivery on-site, ensuring projects are executed to the highest standards.
  • Maintain safe working practices and ensure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
  • Manage subcontractors and suppliers on-site.
  • Support the setup of event spaces, studios, and technical environments.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in the events or audio visual industry.
  • Proven experience managing projects across multiple technical disciplines (audio, video, lighting, LED, streaming).
  • Strong working knowledge of audiovisual equipment and production processes.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as Vectorworks or SketchUp.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Supplier negotiation experience is advantageous.
