Technical Specialist - Audio (Corporate Events)

Location: London, onsite
Full time, permanent
Salary: £45,000

We are looking for a skilled Technical Specialist - Audio to lead the design, planning, and delivery of audio systems for live events. This role combines technical expertise with project management, ensuring seamless execution across small to large-scale productions.

You will play a key role both behind the scenes and onsite, often leading teams and working closely with project managers, clients, and production teams to deliver outstanding event experiences.

Key Responsibilities Event Planning
  • Support project managers in defining audio requirements and technical solutions
  • Plan and secure resources, including freelancers and external suppliers
  • Contribute to and review technical drawings using Vectorworks
  • Design PA systems using simulation software (e.g. ArrayCalc)
  • Prepare and distribute key documentation (patch sheets, flow diagrams, equipment lists) to delivery teams
Equipment Operation
  • Operate advanced digital mixing consoles (Yamaha, DiGiCo, Allen & Heath) in live environments
  • Build, deploy, and tune PA systems, including line arrays and distributed systems
  • Manage RF systems including microphones and in-ear monitoring (e.g. Shure, Sennheiser)
  • Configure and programme communications systems (e.g. GreenGo, Clear-Com, RTS)
  • Troubleshoot technical issues quickly and effectively during live events
  • Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and security standards
Customer Service
  • Deliver a high standard of service, consistently exceeding client expectations
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, venues, and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with internal teams to achieve the best possible event outcomes
Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead and support onsite technical teams
  • Provide mentorship and training to develop team capabilities
  • Foster a positive and collaborative working environment
Event Delivery & Supervision
  • Oversee technical execution across all event phases (pre, live, and post-event)
  • Supervise technicians to ensure smooth and efficient delivery
Equipment & Inventory Management
  • Support the preparation, transport, and maintenance of audio equipment
  • Assist with inventory tracking and forecasting future requirements
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a relevant audio/AV technical role
  • Proven experience delivering audio solutions for live events
  • Strong knowledge of mixing consoles, PA systems, RF, and comms systems
  • Experience with system design and simulation tools
  • Background in customer-facing or hospitality environments preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform under pressure in live event environments
Additional Information

This role requires flexibility, including evening and weekend work, in line with event schedules. Responsibilities may evolve in line with business needs.
