Technical Specialist - Video (Corporate Events)

We are seeking an experienced Technical Specialist - Video to support the delivery of high-quality live events.

This role is responsible for the setup, operation, and management of small to large-scale audiovisual systems, ensuring exceptional client satisfaction at every stage.

You will often take on a leadership role onsite, guiding technical teams and collaborating closely with project and production stakeholders to deliver seamless event experiences.

Key Responsibilities Event Design & Planning
  • Collaborate with project and production teams to design and implement video systems that meet event briefs
  • Support resource planning to ensure the right personnel are allocated effectively
  • Produce and maintain accurate technical drawings using Vectorworks
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy in event schematics and documentation
  • Assist with pre-production planning, including media server and switching workflows
Equipment Operation
  • Operate advanced video switching systems for large-scale events (e.g. multi-switcher environments)
  • Design and deploy complex projection systems using industry-leading equipment
  • Lead multi-screen LED display builds and processor configurations
  • Manage and delegate tasks across large projects to ensure timely delivery
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently during live events
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and security procedures
Customer Service
  • Deliver a high standard of service, exceeding client expectations
  • Build and maintain strong client and venue relationships
  • Collaborate with internal teams to achieve optimal event outcomes
Team Leadership & Development
  • Supervise and support technicians onsite
  • Mentor and coach team members to develop technical and leadership skills
  • Foster a collaborative and positive working environment
Event Delivery & Supervision
  • Oversee technical execution across pre-event, live, and post-event phases
  • Lead onsite teams to ensure smooth event delivery
Equipment & Inventory Management
  • Support the preparation, transport, and maintenance of technical equipment
  • Assist with inventory management and forecasting future equipment needs
Requirements
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in a relevant technical specialty (video/AV)
  • Experience with large-scale live event environments
  • Strong knowledge of video systems, switching, projection, and LED technologies
  • Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or client-facing roles preferred
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to lead teams and perform effectively under pressure
