Project Manager - Wembley Stadium
Reporting to: Managing Director
Location: On-site, Wembley Stadium (Full-time)
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 depending on experience
Role Overview
This is not a standard project management role.
The Project Manager for Wembley is the senior operational and commercial lead for all stadium branding, print and graphics activity within Wembley Stadium - one of the most high-profile live event venues in the world.
You will take full ownership of performance, delivery quality, commercial outcomes, and team coordination across both BAU activity and major stadium events - from Premier League fixtures and FA Cup Finals to global concerts and large-scale activations.
Working in close partnership with the wider Projects Team, event leadership is shared on a rotating basis. Every match, concert, or major activation has one clear accountable owner - and when it's your rotation, that accountability sits fully with you.
This role is strategic, operational, and hands-on when required. It exists to make Wembley a flagship example of margin control, planning discipline, high-quality delivery, and world-class client service.

Core Objectives
- Deliver strong profitability and protect margin across all Wembley operations
- Strengthen planning and resourcing to reduce reactive work and last-minute pressure
- Embed safe, compliant working practices across all installation and maintenance activity
- Develop structured systems and clean data flow to enable predictable, efficient delivery
- Lead the Wembley team with clarity, authority, and calm accountability
- Reduce operational errors, delays, cost overruns, and NCRs
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Own the end-to-end delivery of all stadium work: planning, scheduling, installation, and reporting
- Share event leadership on a structured rotation model - ensuring clear ownership and sustainable workloads
- Build and enforce disciplined workflows and forward planning cycles
- Oversee all on-site activity with a focus on safety, quality, efficiency, and profitability
- Provide coaching, leadership and operational support to the wider team
- Act as the senior point of accountability during live event weeks
2. Commercial & Financial Accountability
- Full responsibility for revenue, margin, and cost performance at Wembley
- Forecast labour and material requirements accurately to protect margin
- Identify commercial risks early and adjust plans to maintain profitability
- Spot and monetise upsell opportunities within the stadium environment
- Support pricing improvements, value engineering, and cost control initiatives
3. Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all work meets IOSH and stadium safety regulations and company standards
- Lead RAMS reviews and toolbox talks where required
- Maintain an inspection-ready, compliant, safe working environment at all times
- Champion a culture where safety and quality are non-negotiable
4. Systems & Data Ownership (Lift)
- Use Lift to manage event and BAU bookings, product ordering, and forward planning
- Maintain clean, accurate, and complete event data
- Ensure visibility of upcoming pipeline and workload forecasting
- Drive disciplined system usage across the team
5. Process Improvement & Continuous Development
- Work with senior leadership to refine and improve operational workflows
- Introduce scalable processes that reduce rework and increase delivery speed
- Strengthen communication between Wembley and the production hub
- Embed a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and ownership
6. Hands-On Operational Support
This is a leadership role, but not a desk-only role.
During peak periods, you will:
- Step into installations when required
- Support critical live event delivery moments
- Solve problems quickly and calmly
- Lead by example with strong technical judgement and decisive action
Workload & Rotation Model
Wembley is a live event environment. That means flexibility is essential.
- Events include football matches, concerts, conferences, and large-scale activations
- Peak season typically runs February-May, with concerts through summer
- September-November is also busy; December is generally quieter
- Event weeks can require 6-7 day commitments
- Event leadership rotates to prevent burnout
- No one works every weekend
- Time off in lieu is provided for weekend or late-night work
- Non-event weeks operate largely within standard office hours (approx. 8:30am-5pm)
Candidate Profile

- Comfortable juggling multiple moving parts under pressure
- Commercially aware and margin-conscious
- Highly organised with strong communication skills
- Emotionally intelligent and confident in client-facing conversations

- Be London-based
- Be comfortable working fully on-site at Wembley
- Be flexible around live event schedules
