Technical Manager (Live Events / Production)

Location: South-East London
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week (flexibility required)
Salary: £40,000 per annum + overtime & benefits

The Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of a client for an experienced Technical Manager to support the technical preparation and delivery of live events and production projects.

This role suits a hands-on technical professional who can act as a subject-matter expert while maintaining a strong working knowledge across multiple technical disciplines.

You'll work closely with project and production teams to ensure technical plans are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise on technical requirements within project teams, sales teams, and directly with clients
  • Produce technical documentation including specifications, schematics, and health & safety documentation
  • Create detailed floor plans using Vectorworks
  • Manage technical pre-production and support project delivery
  • Provide technical best-practice guidance across the wider business
  • Produce accurate technical quotations when required
  • Support cost control and event-specific margin targets
  • Liaise cross-departmentally to ensure seamless project delivery and service excellence
Additional Responsibilities
  • Contribute to CAPEX consultation when required
  • Identify and suggest areas for technical and operational improvement
  • Champion technical policies, procedures, and standards
  • Support innovation and continuous improvement in technical design and delivery
About You

Essential:

  • Experience working in live events and/or a production environment
  • Strong customer service mindset
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly with technical documentation
  • Creative yet analytical approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Proactive, flexible, and collaborative team player
  • Full, clean UK driving licence and ability to travel between sites
Desirable:
  • Relevant specialist technical training or qualifications
  • Experience contributing to service or process improvements
