Technical Manager (Live Events / Production)
Location: South-East London
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week (flexibility required)
Salary: £40,000 per annum + overtime & benefits
The Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of a client for an experienced Technical Manager to support the technical preparation and delivery of live events and production projects.
This role suits a hands-on technical professional who can act as a subject-matter expert while maintaining a strong working knowledge across multiple technical disciplines.
You'll work closely with project and production teams to ensure technical plans are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.

You'll work closely with project and production teams to ensure technical plans are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on technical requirements within project teams, sales teams, and directly with clients
- Produce technical documentation including specifications, schematics, and health & safety documentation
- Create detailed floor plans using Vectorworks
- Manage technical pre-production and support project delivery
- Provide technical best-practice guidance across the wider business
- Produce accurate technical quotations when required
- Support cost control and event-specific margin targets
- Liaise cross-departmentally to ensure seamless project delivery and service excellence
- Contribute to CAPEX consultation when required
- Identify and suggest areas for technical and operational improvement
- Champion technical policies, procedures, and standards
- Support innovation and continuous improvement in technical design and delivery
Essential:
- Experience working in live events and/or a production environment
- Strong customer service mindset
- High level of computer literacy
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly with technical documentation
- Creative yet analytical approach to problem-solving
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Proactive, flexible, and collaborative team player
- Full, clean UK driving licence and ability to travel between sites
- Relevant specialist technical training or qualifications
- Experience contributing to service or process improvements
