Location: Manchester

This Production Manager role sits at the heart of a growing events production company. You'll take ownership of technical and creative delivery across a wide range of live projects, balancing hands-on production management with client communication, planning, budgeting and on-site leadership.
From early concept discussions to final debrief, you'll ensure every element runs smoothly, safely and to an exceptional standard.
What You'll Be Doing
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, guiding them through the full production process
- Interpret briefs and turn them into clear, actionable production plans
- Contribute creative ideas and technical solutions for exhibitions, brand experiences and live events
- Produce key project documentation-including schedules, plans, equipment lists and production packs
- Manage budgets, track expenditure and prepare quotations that meet both creative and commercial objectives
- Coordinate technical teams, freelancers and suppliers, ensuring everyone is aligned with project goals
- Attend site visits, walk-throughs and production meetings, often leading discussions
- Handle venue liaison, logistics planning and supplier management
- Oversee health & safety planning, including RAMS and onsite compliance
- Supervise onsite builds, rehearsals and de-rigs, ensuring technical standards are maintained
- Support hands-on setup when needed (not essential but beneficial)
- Contribute to business growth by spotting opportunities and showcasing the company's full service capabilities
- Keep internal systems updated with project progress and schedules
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth workflow across the business
- A minimum of 4 years' experience in technical event or exhibition production
- Solid understanding of multiple disciplines (lighting, audio, video, rigging or scenic)
- Confident communication skills, able to explain ideas and solutions clearly to clients and colleagues
- Experience in technical drawings, AutoCAD or Vectorworks
- A creative mindset with the ability to develop ideas that elevate the client experience
- Strong organisational ability-comfortable managing several projects at different stages
- Calm under pressure with excellent problem-solving skills
- A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to adapt to changing requirements
- Ability to lead teams onsite with confidence and professionalism
- Good commercial awareness and understanding of project profitability
- High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality work
- Full UK driving licence and access to transport
