Midweight 2D CAD Technician - Exhibition Design Agency

Salary: £30,000

We're working with a leading creative business within the exhibitions and live events sector that's looking for a Midweight CAD Technician to join their design studio based in Stratford-upon-Avon.
Reporting directly to the Head of Design, this role bridges the gap between creative design and technical delivery-translating imaginative concepts into accurate, buildable 2D drawings. You'll play a vital role in ensuring the creative vision is delivered flawlessly on site.
The Role
As a key part of the studio, you'll be responsible for:

Producing detailed 2D technical drawings using AutoCAD and similar software for exhibition stands and event structures.
Translating creative design briefs into precise technical plans.
Collaborating with designers, project managers, and production teams to ensure feasibility and manufacturability.
Incorporating elements such as lighting, AV, power, and water into your drawings.
Checking client artwork against specifications and preparing accurate CAD plans.
Producing full technical packs for manufacturing and installation.
Conducting occasional on-site surveys to verify measurements and compliance.
Maintaining accurate CAD records and ensuring all outputs meet health and safety and venue regulations.

About You
You'll be technically skilled, detail-oriented, and comfortable working at the intersection of design and production. Ideally, you'll bring:

Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (and preferably SolidWorks, 3DS Max, or Vectorworks).
Proven experience in exhibitions, events, joinery, or architectural environments.
Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and build processes.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
The ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
A good grasp of structural and engineering principles is a plus.
